What is the Debt Arrangement Scheme?
The Debt Arrangement Scheme (DAS) is a formal insolvency procedure run by the Scottish government. It is open to Scottish residents who are struggling to pay off one or more debts, and who are able to make reasonable repayments for the specified time agreed under their Debt Payment Program. The scheme is delivered by approved local authority money advisors and Citizens Advice Scotland. It is not a route into insolvency, however, as you will be repaying all your debts, just over a longer period of time
